Here are a few general ways to make your next social media campaign stand out!

Promoted Posts

Purchasing paid promotion for your posts, tweets, Instagram posts, and otherwise seems like a gimme. Most don’t want to invest in social media marketing in this way, but it’s a great resource for small or medium-sized businesses with small social media presences. You can reach people in your target demographic easily without them even having to follow you!

Social Media Engagement

Engaging your followers is a great way to gain traction on social media platforms! Every social media site is different, but Facebook and Twitter are the platforms whose algorithms favor social engagement. For example, when you reply to comments on your own tweets, your original thread will appear at the top of a dashboard belonging to someone who might be following the person you’re interacting with, but not your company page. This is a great opportunity to show people what your brand stands for. Use this opportunity to provide great customer service! If your brand is a little on the more lax side, we recommend going off-topic at times to talk about the latest trends to grab attention. Authenticity is absolutely key.

Teaming up with influencers is a great marketing tactic that has been gaining traction in the last few years. Social media influencers are individuals with impressive followings that can range between hundreds of thousands to millions of subscribers. Building strong and lasting relationships with influencers is a fantastic idea. This is a chance for your products to be seen by this influencer’s larger than life following! That’s a ton of potential customers.

Just remember, when you’re looking for influencers to represent your brand, make sure that:

The influencer’s demographic fits your target audience.
That the influencer represents your brand’s core qualities.
That the influencer likes your product- or similar brands that sell a similar product.
Check and double-check your budget. Sometimes, influencers can get pricey.

Everyone loves free stuff! Contest and giveaways are a fantastic way to expand your following even if you only have a small audience. Make sure that you let people know that they need to: 1.) Like and Share/Retweet your post (this will help your giveaway gain traction. The more eyes that land on your tweet or post, the better.) and they must 2.) be following you to be eligible to win the giveaway. This will increase engagement with your company’s social media page and the posts therein.

Collaborations

Collaborating with another brand with a bigger following that falls into your target demographic can be a great way to expand your own reach. One of our personal favorite social media collabs is Wendy’s and Moonpie. They have very little in common other than the fact that they’re food retailers, but both have distinct social media personalities that most people seem to enjoy. This applies when you collaborate with a different company to promote a product collaboration or a joint giveaway, too!

Videos are great attention grabbers, and you don’t need to abide by any social media platform-imposed word limit! There are just some things you can’t get across with words alone- like how good your new product tastes, the many applications of your super handy item, and more. Turn on your camera and record some authentic content to share with your followers! When you post high-quality footage that focuses uniquely on your product or your team, your clients will feel less like they’re buying from a faceless corporation
